    The Rubik's Cube Belgian Open Championship 2008 is a Rubik's Cube championship.

    The competition is open to competitors from all countries.
   The Belgian with the best ranking in the competition will be elected the Belgian Champion 2008 and will win a trip to the Rubik's Cube European Championship.
    Trophies and certificates will be given to all category winners. Certificates will be given 2nd and 3rd competitors in each category.
   
    To ensure that the competition runs smoothly and given the space available in the meeting room, the maximum number of competitors is     80. So make sure you register early if (and only if) you intend to come.

    The meeting rooms used for the competition are located on the lobby level. They are located opposite to the entrance of the hotel behind     the elevators.       

    To reach the venue by plane: if you come by plane to Brussels Airport (Zaventem), you can reach Leuven by train very easily using trains     that leave the airport every 30 minutes and go directly to Leuven. See the NMBS/SNCB website for more information about schedules and     rates.

    To reach the venue by train: go by train to Leuven. From there, you can reach the venue on foot in less than 10 minutes. You can see the     map here (don't follow the blue line displayed by Google Maps, it is shorter on foot ^^).

    To reach the venue by car, you can go to the hotel and park you car there. Parking is free if you book a room there too. If you do not stay there, the rate is aout 12.5 € per 24 hours. There is also another parking under the train station but the rate is similar.

Note: If you intend to stay at the Novotel and to park you car there, you should use the registration form available here. The special rate is available only if you book before the 2nd January 2008.

Details:

    Entry is free for registered competitors and guests. Non-registered competitors have to pay 2 €.
    All accomodation is at the expense of the competitors.

    During the championship the official WCA regulations will be applied.
    Results of the championship will be added to the official WCA World Ranking.   

    Before the competition starts all competitors can practice on the official timing equipment: the Stackmat timer.   

    All puzzle brands may be used during the competition, as long as the puzzles comply to the WCA regulations.   

    All competitors must be available for scrambling and judging. Before the competition the organiser will inform you about the plans.

    Note: You are entitled to a special rate of 70 € (including breakfast) for 1 person / 77 € (including breakfast) for 2 persons per night per room if you use this registration form. This rate is only available if you book before the 2nd January 2008. You are also entitled to free parking if you book via this way.
